Giovanni Cranchi opened a workshop at San Giovanni di Bellagio and registered the boat building business in 1870. The yard moved to Valtellina in 1970 after Tullio Monzino entered partnership with Aldo Cranchi. The Cranchi and Monzino families remain involved and the company builds motor yachts today.
